FED:Katter party hits a road bump

Federal independent MP BOB KATTER says the rejection of his new political party's name
by federal authorities will not stop it from going ahead and an alternative will be found
soon.

The Australian Electoral Commission has rejected an application to have KATTER's Australian
Party registered as a federal political party, saying its abbreviated name - The Australian
Party - is likely to be confused with one already registered.

The party's Queensland leader, state MP AIDAN MCLINDON, says KAP's a likely alternative.
